ARE YOU EXCITED TO FRESHEN UP YOUR WARDROBE FOR FALL?
Now that Labor Day is behind us, we’re ready to get in the spirit of the fall season. Cue the hayrides, scarves, apple cider, and pumpkin-spiced everything.
Autumn can bring a lot of exciting changes. Many people are heading back to school or the office after a summer getaway. When the weather changes, we often look in our closets and feel overwhelmed about what to wear.
Don’t fret – there are plenty of styles trending right now that don’t require much effort. After all, the fall season is all about coziness and simplicity.
Let’s take a look at some of our favorite fall trends that blend style with comfort!
FALL FASHION TRENDS YOU’LL BE SEEING EVERYWHERE
1. OVERSIZED COATS AND CARDIGANS
An oversized chunky knit cardigan is a go-to when cooler weather makes you want to wrap up in something warm.
Paris Fashion Week featured many big coats cinched at the waist with a belt.
Fuzzy zip-up jackets are also popular right now. For extra slouch and warmth, go for one in a size larger than you’d normally wear.
2. FITTED KNIT DRESSES
Knit dresses are comfy and versatile. You can wear them more casually with sneakers and a leather jacket, or go for a more dressy look with heels and a necklace.
3. BLANKET SCARVES
What’s cozier than wearing a blanket around all day?
That’s basically how you’ll feel when you wrap up in an oversized long scarf.
Look for a blanket scarf with a fun pattern to express your sense of style. It’s also a good idea to have a few neutral colors as staples in your closet.
4. DENIM
Denim is a classic back-to-school trend that never goes out of style. It’s the perfect solution when you’re in a time crunch and need to throw together an outfit fast.
Baggy jeans became popular these past few seasons, and they’ll continue to be in the spotlight. There’s also been a recent resurgence of the Y2K aesthetic – 90’s style low-rise and flared jeans are on-trend this fall.
A cropped denim jacket is the perfect piece for transitioning from summer to fall. You can wear it over a dress or romper. For a more casual look, wear the jacket with blue jeans, a graphic tee, and chunky sneakers.
5. KNEE-HIGH BOOTS
Knee-high boots might be the most popular footwear trend this fall.
You can achieve a timeless, classy look with stiletto heel black knee-high boots. Or you can go for a bold, fresh look with white knee-high boots – a throwback to the ’60s popularized today by Ariana Grande.
6. TRENCH COATS
Trench coats have always been a staple for chilly weather, adding a sophisticated touch to any outfit.
Leather trench coats are rising in popularity, blending the elegance of a classic trench with the edge of a leather jacket.
For a trendy look, wear an oversized trench coat cinched at the waist by a belt.
7. TURTLENECKS
Turtlenecks are on-trend, and they’re being styled like never before. Did you know you can layer a turtleneck under just about anything? Jackets, blazers, ponchos, vests, dresses, and more.
Choose cashmere or cable knit for a classic style. If you’re going for a more contemporary look, opt for bright, vivid colors, and patterns.
8. VESTS
Vests are making a comeback. Find a statement vest that speaks to your personality and layer it over a long tee, button-down, or sweater.
Puffer vests are a popular choice for cooler temperatures. When the weather isn’t quite cold enough yet for a jacket, they’re a terrific lightweight solution. To create a cute, layered look, slip them on over any fall outfit.
9. BRIGHT PRINTS AND PATTERNS
This fall, patterns are ruling the fashion world.
People are going bold! Expect to see bright florals, sequins, plaid, leopard print, checkerboard, argyle, houndstooth, and nordic patterns.
Prints that were popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s are making a comeback in the fashion world right now.
10. BOLD PASTEL COLORS
In fall and winter fashion, we usually expect to see neutrals and dark colors.
But this season, it’s all about eye-catching colors.
The runways of Paris Fashion Week were dominated by bold, vibrant colors that pop – bright blue, lavender, orange, and yellow.
Don’t be afraid to go bold with your colors this fall. The brighter the better.
