Community Employment Centers

Our Community Employment Center job services are available online. Job seekers can meet with our Career Advisors virtually, one-on-one, in English or Spanish, by scheduling an appointment to receive help with your online job application, résumé, and interview preparation.  Job seekers can also enroll in free, online, soft skill workshops in English or Spanish. Our workshops include: Job Application, Résumé Builder, Ace the Interview, Workplace Communication and Conflict Resolution, Our Career Advisors will walk you through all of the steps to make it easy for you to participate.  We are here to serve you and make sure you are ready to take the next step in your career. Whether you want to work in a local grocery store, a manufacturing company, a high tech firm, or a variety of other jobs, we can help.  Our Community Employment Center workstations are available, by appointment, to job seekers who do not have internet access. All services provided through our Community Employment Centers are FREE OF CHARGE! All we ask is that you are 16 years of age or older and serious about finding a job. Making Good Happen is our goal!

JOB SEARCH ASSISTANCE

Our Community Employment Centers are available by appointment to those without internet access. The Centers are equipped with computers, phones, and job lead boards that can help you find and apply to jobs that interest you. Community Employment Center Career Advisors are also available to assist you one on-one through the entire job search process.

FREE WORKSHOPS

Improve your skills for the workplace! Attend our FREE online workshops in a virtual classroom.  Soft skill workshops include: Job Application, Résumé Builder, Ace the Interview, Workplace Communication, and Conflict Resolution.

The two week Job Readiness Program* will teach you how to:

  • Create a winning résumé
  • Communicate effectively
  • Interview with confidence
  • Follow up with employers after an interview or hiring event
  • Find the right job for you

Completion of Goodwill’s Job Readiness Program demonstrates to potential employers your commitment to possess the following soft skills: Reliability, Commitment, Initiative.

*Job Readiness graduates receive a Goodwill Certificate of Completion. Goodwill’s Job Readiness Program is offered at all of our San Diego County Community Employment Centers.

Indeed essentials to work

We have partnered with Indeed to bring job seekers the Essentials to Work program. When we work with job seekers to connect them to good jobs; we see the barriers they face. We understand talent is universal. Opportunity is not. We want to help qualified job seekers by providing critical resources to overcome technological and transportation barriers. We are currently providing free computers and hotspots to qualified community members.  We want to take down barriers and connect job seekers to a future of self-sufficiency, productivity and happiness.

PAID TRAINING PROGRAM

Our Paid Training Program is designed to train and prepare you for the workforce. It is a three month, structured, hands-on training program in Retail and Donations.
