Goodwill offers summer jobs program
Goodwill San Diego is launching its 2023 Summer Youth Program to help young adults, ages 16 to 25, who are ready to develop work and soft skills. The free program matches students with a Goodwill Career Advisor to help develop a custom employment plan, a résumé, preparation for interviews, and obtaining employment. Students can also participate in Goodwill’s Job Readiness Program, which includes Exceptional Customer Service, Workplace Communication, Conflict Resolution, and Bank of America’s Financial Literacy workshops. To participate or learn more, make an appointment with a Career Advisor by visiting sdgoodwill.org or stopping by any of the five San Diego County Goodwill Community Employment Centers. This year, the program’s goal is to serve 150 young adults, with at least 65 percent of them placed into jobs this summer. The Goodwill centers also provide free soft-skill workshops including Résumé Builder, Ace the Interview, Workplace Communication, Conflict Resolution, and Bank of America’s Better Money Habits. Appointments are available in person or online and in English or Spanish.
